At Reading Owls, we strive to answer the questions many of our visitors and partners may have about our mission. This is certainly not an exhaustive list; if your question has not been answered, please free to contact us by email at or call us 201 500-6957 (OWLS).
How does ROI measure its success?
ROI's work is aimed at increasing literacy levels among low-income students from marginalized communities. When we partner with an organization, we work with its leadership to achieve measureable outcomes. We select organizations that are innovative, passionate about literacy, scalable and fiscally responsible, so that a greater number of children over time can be positively impacted.
How Can I Get Involved?
There are many ways to support the work we do at Reading Owls. Volunteers can help us by:
Donating time to help with a company fundraiser or book drive
Hold a fundraiser, and donate the proceeds to Reading Owls

Donate warehousing space, shipping or trucking assistance, hotel accomodations & airline tickets to help keep administrative costs low
Honor a friend or loved one with a gift to ROI
Make a monetary gift, and ask your employer to match your contribution
Let us know if your company has a corporate foundation that makes donations to educational efforts

What are your Funding Sources?
We are a 501(c)(3) public charity - non-governmental and non-denominational - registered in the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. All of our donations comes from one of the following sources - general public, corporations, foundations or governmental grants.
How do we ensure donor funds are spent wisely?
ROI vets every organization request through a special subcommittee. Once an organization is approved, we ship the books and learning resources directly to the organization. ROI works closely with the Ministry of Education - where applicable - to get the items through international customs, so we are only spending necessary funds. We will also provide updates, including project total, showing how every dollar was spent.
Does ROI prefer hardcover or soft cover books?
We accept new or like new children’s book, but hardcover picture books tend to be more durable, and are especially treasured by many of the children we serve.
