Co-Founder and Treasurer
Mr. Dickson is currently Treasurer at Bain & Company, a leading management consulting company, and is based in their Boston office. Previously, he served as Corporate Treasurer at Rogers Corporation and managed global treasury operations with responsibilities for exposure management (currencies, interest rate, and commodities), M&A financing, capital structure management, global cash planning, pension asset & liability management and insurance risk management.
Prior to joining Rogers Corporation, Easton spent seven years at the Boston Consulting Group as Treasury Supervisor with responsibility for currency risk management, cash management, global investments, insurance administration and treasury policy development. He graduated from the University of the West Indies with a B.S. in management studies (high honors). Easton also holds an MBA from Babson College, and a Masters in Taxation from Bentley University.
He is an aspiring writer, enjoys running and watches virtually all major sports.
Co-Founder and Chair
Ms. Dickson is president of E2 Global Consulting, LLC, a finance and accounting firm providing consulting to clients in the service industry who need senior level accounting and finance leadership. In her role she manages the strategic vision and overall direction of the firm, as well as new business development. Prior to her current role, Elaine held several positions in banking and consulting, most recently as Finance Manager for an energy consulting firm.
She graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a degree in Management, concentration in Accounting, and holds advanced degrees in Business and Journalism from Bentley University and Boston University, respectively.
In addition to Reading Owls, Elaine serves on the Board of Trustees at Moses Brown School, as well as the Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) Mayoral Academy Board. She is also a professional photographer, and finds great pleasure in the creative process. In her spare time Elaine indulges her love for sports, shuttling between cricket, tennis, track and field, and soccer, the latter as a lifelong Manchester United fan. She resides in Northeast Rhode Island with her husband and kids.
A Marine Scientist and Environmental Economist, Dr. Peter Edwards is passionate about his work studying ocean and coastal environments and the impact that society has on natural resources. He is currently an Economist and Social Science Coordinator with the Coral Reef Conservation Program at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In this role, Peter leads a team of social scientists responsible for collecting data relevant to the study of the socio-economic dimension of coral resource management.
Beyond the NOAA, Peter is an independent member of Jamaica’s National Council on Ocean and Coastal Management, as well as a Member of the United Nations Expert Pool in the area of Global Reporting and Marine Environment Assessment. He has extensive experience as a lecturer and consultant, and has written numerous publications in the area of environmental and natural resource management and environmental economics and policy analysis.
Peter graduated from the University of the West Indies (Jamaica) with a Bachelors in Zoology and a Masters in Marine Sciences. He completed his PhD at the University of Delaware, in Marine Studies with a concentration in Marine Policy. In his spare time, he enjoys a number of recreational sports, Caribbean fusion cooking and live music concerts. He is also is engaged in long distance agricultural pursuits at his family farm in St. Thomas, Jamaica.
Vice-Chair and Director
Sonia Fife is General Manager of the P&G North American Shave Care business. She has worked at P&G for the past 23 years where she has held roles of increasing responsibility.
Ms. Fife started her P&G career in 1990 working in the Food & Beverage division in Cincinnati. In 1993 she moved to P&G Caribbean as a Brand Manager. She joined Gillette as Marketing Manager in 1995 and moved to Boston in 1998 after serving as Country Manager for a year.
In Boston Sonia served in several executive roles, most recently as Marketing Director for Gillette Shaving New Products Design. In that role, she led the portfolio of Male Premium Systems shaving innovation, including the 2010 launch of Gillette Fusion ProGlide. Ms. Fife received the P&G Presidents Award for Visibly Leading Breakthrough for this launch. In her current role, Sonia and her team have accelerated the performance of the NA business, strengthening the results and establishing a new level of value creation and growth.
Sonia is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, and Columbia University where she received her MBA. She is married to Paul and they have three children.
Secretary and Director
Amber Ma is a policy analyst for the State Consumer Health Advocacy Program at Community Catalyst, where she conducts research and analysis on health care policy at the state and national levels. Amber works closely with state consumer advocacy groups across the country by providing strategic policy and campaign guidance on Medicaid, private insurance and health system transformation to build upon the progress of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Prior to joining Community Catalyst, Amber was a policy and research assistant at HealthRIght, a multi-stakeholder health care coalition in Rhode Island seeking to improve consumer engagement in the state’s health care reform processes. At HealthRIght, she helped write a proposal that was awarded a $75,000 grant from a local community foundation. While earning her Master of Public Affairs at Brown University, she was an outreach and development intern at Beautiful Day Rhode Island, a nonprofit which provides job training and employment for newly arrived refugees and operates the Providence Granola Project. During that experience, Amber developed grant-writing content that helped secure funding from various foundations. She also provided direction on the Granola Project's communications and marketing.
Aside from work, Amber avidly pursues the joy and beauty of simple things. She loves discovering good reads at a used bookstore, finding delicious hole-in-the-wall eateries, and exploring interesting hiking and biking paths.
A Montreal native, Elissa O'Bryant (Lisa) brings a broad and complementary set of professional skills and experiences from both the corporate and legal sectors to her role as Director. Her career includes work as a Defense Attorney for the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), and also as a Residential Real Estate Closer in Boston. She joined State Street Corporation in 1998, and has received a series of promotions attributed to her significant contributions to the company's bottom line.
In her current role as Associate Attorney, Lisa prepares and negotiates legal contracts for financial services clients. She also provides legal support across business lines through the review and analysis of complex legal documentation. Previously, Lisa served as Project Manager where she spearheaded transformation and restructuring related activities across global business lines, and oversaw the planning, management and implementation of projects.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts, with Honors in Political Science from Concordia University, and a Juris Doctor from Suffolk University School of Law.
She resides with her family in Southeastern Massachusetts.
Robert Silva brings more than 13 years of financial services to our board of directors, and a track record of problem solving, and collaboration. He joined the staff of MetLife in 2005 as an actuarial analyst and provides predictive analytics to increase profitability and overall efficiency. In addition, he performs in-depth analysis to achieve rate level and loss reserve adequacy, while maintaining competitiveness and overall company growth.
Before joining the finance group at MetLife, Rob worked as an Annual Fund associate at Brown University, providing analytical support for a $27 million fundraising program and managing a $5 million data-driven direct-mail campaign. He was also instrumental in standardizing the internal reporting suite to enhance communication effectiveness.
Rob has also served as Office Manager at WRNI, Rhode Island NPR's news station, and previously held positions at American Express Financial Advisors and Fidelity Investments in advisory roles.
He is a graduate of George Washington University, and a native Rhode Islander.
Polly Smith Atkins is a Human Resources professional with extensive experience partnering with a variety of business areas helping to align their business objectives with human capital strategies. Her strengths include coaching, brokering services on behalf of her clients and employee engagement. She has achieved a strong track record of working collaboratively, establishing solid internal/external relationships and supporting/implementing a variety of people initiatives. She’s very client focused and results oriented and has a strong belief that helping those less fortunate is core to being a contributing member of society. She resides in southeast Massachusetts with her family.
